Sonya Clark

Sonya enjoys teaching immensely and is always excited to meet new students. It is a rewarding experience for her to help others grow through music. Each student in her studio receives individualized instruction that caters to their strengths, weaknesses and learning style, and they're always pushed to accomplish their best. Sonya is a strong advocate of teamwork, and strives to work closely with both student and parent. Above all, her studio is geared toward having fun with music and using it to develop other life skills, such as creative problem solving, confidence, coordination, and communication.

A performer and music educator, Sonya's had the privilege of performing with various ensembles/bands, including Burn Party, Rocky Mountain Chorale, The Tyler/Clark Piano Duo, The Abegg Duo, The Flatirons Symphony, and the San Juan Symphony, among others.  She's concertized in Europe, the Midwest, and throughout Colorado. She's had the pleasure of teaching a wide range of ages and settings, from pre-K through retirees, as well as privately and collegiately.  Sonya has been teaching for 15 years.

Sonya received an M.M. in Piano Performance/Pedagogy from UW-Madison, where she was a member of the University of Wisconsin MTNA collegiate chapter. She received her B.A. in Piano Performance, Cum Laude, from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO. During her undergraduate work she studied Urbino, Italy, and participated regularly in master classes and public concerts.
